File a Flight Plan Day - London Olympics 2012
Monday 21 November 2011
Hello everyone,
The Airspace & Safety Initiative (ASI) Olympic Airspace Communication and Education team would like to thank you for your support with the File a Flight Plan Day on the 12th November. This was an important event in the lead up to the Olympics next year. The nearly 800 flight plans submitted by pilots provided excellent data and feedback for both pilots and organisers. The ASI event encouraged GA pilots to file a test flight plan to familiarise themselves with the process and learn what they need to do next year to continue flying during the Olympics with the minimum of disruption.

Red Arrows Incident - 8 Nov 11
Tuesday 08 November 2011
Only last week hundreds of family members, friends and colleagues of Flt Lt Jon Egging, including our Chairman and Vice Chairman representing the membership of BADA, gathered at Lincoln Cathedral for a Memorial Service following his untimely death. Now today, we have heard the desperately sad news of a ground incident at RAF Scampton that has claimed the life of another Red Arrows pilot, Flt Lt Sean Cunningham. Such a tragic period for a group of RAF aviators who could not be more dedicated and professional in all that they do. Our thoughts and prayers go to Sean's family and friends and to all those at RAF Scampton and in the wider RAF community at this terrible time.
